As the former directory of technology at a rapidly growing content publishing company and owner of my own online business, I understand how cloud computing plays a vital role in being able to scale computing resources without needing to dramatically increase capital expenditure and employee headcounts. That’s not to say there aren’t challenges to deploying cloud computing resources – there certainly are. I have the battle scars to prove that I made a few mistakes along the way. If you’ve made the move from traditional bare metal to cloud computing resources, you probably have a few scars too.
Even with the challenges, cloud infrastructure and cloud platforms make it easier for small companies to compete more directly with the biggest players in their market.
Hostway, a company specializing in cloud and managed hosting for small and medium sized businesses is conducting a survey to better understand the challenges and opportunities of small and medium-sized businesses just like us. You may already be using some cloud computing resources, but are you using the cloud to it’s full potential?
I normally wouldn’t promote a survey like this, but Hostway has promised to share the results, which means we can all benefit from participating. The 12 question survey from Hostway is a great opportunity for all of us who would like to take advantage of cloud computing to learn from each other and understand the challenges we face, as well as how our objectives align.
As an added incentive for you to fill out the survey, Hostway will randomly draw one recipient of a $250 gift card. Answering all questions in the survey is required to be eligible.
Take a few minutes and complete the survey so we can all better understand the challenges of moving to the cloud. I will share the results once the survey is complete.
