Winamp spent many years as my favorite music player for Windows. More recently I switched to Media Monkey, because it does so many things better than the desktop Winamp. Now Winamp is reinvented as the best music player I’ve seen for Android to date.
Maybe I’m the only one who feels this way, but the Music player built into Android just feels lacking. I never feel comfortable navigating the music library on my Nexus One or on the Samsung Galaxy S I recently tested. Maybe the iPod interface has me brainwashed, but Android Music just feels half baked. Winamp, while only subtly different than the Music app, is a dramatic improvement. Navigating albums and playlists works better. Features are exposed in a more functional way. If you still use Winamp on the desktop (or would consider doing so again), the two apps sync up to keep your music where you want it when you want it.
